Healthy Treat: Halva Cookies

When I see the words “cookie” and “easy” in the same sentence – I’m so there. Especially if said cookies are a) minus grain and refined sugar, b) are SUPER UBER tasty.

Just a warning – these are not Whole30 compliant, so if you’re doing that this month, you’ll have to wait until February :)

I saw this recipe for the first time at Ruth’s Real Food Blog. And, when I first saw the ingredients, I was a little hesitant… because, who woulda thunk that tahini and honey go well together… but, I was craving cookies, and I’m all about trying something that’s as easy as these are.

Sooooo glad I tried them – OMG – they are good. The 10 year old and the husband even REALLY like them. I’m so glad I gave them a shot.


1/2 Cup Tahini Paste
1/4 Cup Honey


Whisk vigorously with a fork until the “batter” becomes stiff. Use wet hands and drop balls of the dough onto a cookie sheet. Bake at 300 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes (watch them – every oven is different).

Check out Ruth’s blog above. She’s got some suggestions on different amounts you can make. I also tried them with a bit of cinnamon… YUM!!! Like a healthier version of a snicker doodle (and by “healthier” I mean not so sickeningly sweet).
