Snack of the week: Chips and Salsa

March 24th, 2010  |  Published in Miscellanea  |  2 Comments

Oh how I love chips and salsa!

I actually make my own chips. Simply pick up some whole wheat tortilla’s at the grocery store. Cut them into quarters, throw a little sea salt, lime juice, and olive oil on them. Put them under the broiler for about 8 minutes. Delicious!

For salsa, you can certainly purchase pre-made salsa. Just look for one that doesn’t have any complicated or chemical ingredients. Meaning – if there are things in there that you can’t pronounce, or have no clue what it is, don’t buy that brand.

The fresh chips will last a couple of days in an air tight container – but they’re best right out of the oven.
