Why you might choose Blended Yoga…
The ultimate goals of Blended Yoga are to get you moving, help you build strength, stamina, balance and flexibility and, to help you get some YOU time.
Imagine – an hour just for you… if you take time for yourself, your whole life naturally becomes energized. Seriously.
During the class, you will sweat, you will be challenged, and you might even be taken out of your comfort zone just a little bit… because, as one of my favorite sayings goes: if it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you… and ultimately, you come to yoga to initiate some sort of change in yourself, right?
All this challenging and initiating change is exhilarating… Yoga serves as a laboratory for real life… if you can face and meet challenges on the mat – you can definitely do it in real life… come out to class and experience this for yourself!
What’s a class like?
Blended Yoga is a combination of Hatha, Vinyasa and Yin yoga. This is just yoga-speak for saying that during class, we’re going to hold some poses, we’re going to flow through some poses, and then we’re going to stretch a bit deeper and work on flexibility.
Classes are always multi-level – which means, you will feel comfortable, be able to keep up, and follow what’s going on if you’re a brand new beginner – as in – never done yoga in your life. Or, if you’re an advanced yogi, you’ll see modifications that will push you to your edge, and challenge you.
Every class has a theme – sometimes it’s a particular movement, sometimes it’s a body-based theme (like hips or shoulders), and sometimes it’s a “Yoga as Laboratory for Life” theme (like releasing tension, handling stress, finding joy, or not over-thinking things).
Class begins with some light movement and encouragement to help you let go of the day and get present with exactly what you need. At this point, we usually set an intention (which is just a fancy way to ask yourself “why am I here?”). Setting an intention helps you focus your practice and bring more meaning to what you’re doing on the mat. And, it’s nothing ritualistic… we’re usually hanging out in a forward bend and I simply ask you to ask yourself why you came to class – focus on what you’re needing.
We continue with a set of Sun Salutations to get you moving, build heat, and get you focused on your body – where you might be holding tension, where you need some extra attention, what’s going on in your mind…
We then move into flowing pose sequences to help further build heat, gain strength, and build stamina. We also work on balance poses and sequences and we do some core work. During this part of class, we work up to a Super Adventure sequence <– that’s where you get to prove to yourself how strong you are, and maybe even attempt and totally accomplish something you never thought you could.
Class winds down with slower, longer held poses that help increase flexibility, help you get calm, and help you sink into stillness.
We end class with 3 to 4 minutes of rest – just letting yourself be still, quieting your mind, and feeling totally supported.
One of the best things about Blended Yoga is, anyone can do this – anyone. You don’t have to be super strong, uber flexible, skinny as a rail, or be able to put your foot behind your head. Yoga meets you where you are and allows you to be exactly YOU.

Welcome!
